As I'm sure many of you have predicted by this point, I'm leaving soon for San Diego, and wanted to say a few things before I am away from my keyboard for an entire week.
First off my booth number, #4617. Repeat that number in your head over and over if you are heading to San Diego next week. If not, probably don't worry about it.
Also, I finally had a chance to create another conan themed piece in time for the convention, and I will be packaging all 6 prints of my frazzeta inspired personal works as a print pack for the show this year. It will be a limited, signed and numbered print set. So, if your going to be there, and are into that sort of art, it's pretty cool. The equation is time tested and fool proof, swords+boobs+giant snakes+panthers+vulture silhouettes=awesome.
In other news, we're coming up on over a month now that I've managed almost daily updates on my blog! that's pretty nuts frankly. I'm not saying every post has been Pulitzer worthy, but hey, regular new art, on serve, all the time. Yes I realize the internet in general is good for that kind of thing also. I'm saying this particular part of the internet is the best possible place for new art if that art is created by yours truly. So it's been pretty awesome that I've been managing that kind of consistent output. All while creating actual art on the side.
Today's post by the way, is on my most recent Magic card to see the light of day, and one I will be posting here on Deviantart very soon, along with a ton of new stuff I've been dying to show you guys.
Thanks for stopping by!

New portfolio site
It has finally happened. I have a new website.
Every five years or so, it comes to pass that my old gallery of work, scarred and ravaged by time, gives way to a new glimmering online homestead, unveiled to the harsh, scalding gaze of the wide world in it's newborn glory. Shimmering with the dew of morning, and a slightly damp sheen of placenta.
Too much? yeah. That may have gone overboard.
Anyway, it's at the usual locale, www.jaestudio.com
Please check it out when you have a chance. I would greatly appreciate it.
thanks!

Appearances may be approaching
I will be exposing myself at gencon in Indianapolis, or rather, appearing to the public and exposing them to my art. My booth number is #2633. If you look on the exhibit hall map, you can see this is situated somewhere between the island of Atlantis, and mars. Which is to say it will be hard to find. If there is a bright center of the universe, my booth is the booth that is farthest from it.
However, I will endeavor to make it a worthy destination, as always. This year I bring free booze, go-go dancers, cake, fireworks, and lots of art. Most of that was a lie.
I will be bringing a good number of original pencil works this time, including mat
It's that time again
Convention season is starting, at least for me, in a few weeks, on May 9th-11th in Kansas City. Spectrum Live III is upon us, and it's going to be bigger and better then last year. By a lot.
I'm doing a different setup this year as well, since the show itself seems to cater more to a collector crowd, I'm not actually bringing any prints. Which makes this the first show I've done in about 16 years where I didn't have prints.
Instead I'm doing lots of canvases, some printed as I've done before, and some mixed media; Which is also a first for me. I will have all the new magic cards I've contributed to the Theros set, as well as a lot of my new
Spectrum Art Live part two, the sequel.
So, in the fantasy art community, Spectrum is kind of a big deal. The book that is. So when the same people who publish the best and brightest annual collection of fantastic art decided to do a real life show, with real live artists (instead of dead ones?) a lot of us were pretty excited. We knew even if no one showed up, the caliber of artists attending would be so high, that it would be something we wouldn't have missed for the world.
And it was pretty awesome. It's been a while since I had a chance to meet some of my heroes in fantasy art, because many of them don't do the convention scene anymore, but this is one convention they all cam

Yeah, no pressure, but add a chapter on jet fighters please, and some dogfighting. Then you can charge more and I'll pay it.
